This product is no longer in production. If you're interested, we recommend the Lightweight Rugged Electronic Rack. It's FAA-certified and can be installed in a wide range of aircraft, ground, or or sea vehicles, making it a versatile choice for your electronics and instrumentation needs.
The Rugged Electronics Rack (RER) is an FAA certified lightweight and rugged electronics and instrumentation rack. It was originally designed for installation in the rear cargo area of the Hawker Beechcraft King Air twin turbo-prop aircraft, which is a significantly tight space. This resulted in a design for the RER that is very low profile compared to other high-strength instrument racks capable of withstanding aircraft crash loads.
While originally designed for the King Air, the RER can be installed in nearly any aircraft, ground or sea vehicle. The RER is assembled from machined aluminum plates with high strength alloy steel bolts and helical coil inserts in the plates. The latter allow the racks to be disassembled and reassembled multiple times for storage, empty shipping or to attach custom panels for specific missions.
Our Rugged Electronics Racks feature standard "U-type" electronics mounting and is available in 6U, 9U, 12U, 14U, 15U, and 18U model heights. All models are stackable. A wire rope isolation system can also be installed under the RER to reduce the effects of shock and random vibration on the instruments installed. Eight mounting holes in the base of the RER allow direct attachment to suit the customer's needs. All models can also mount to our King Air Riser assembly for ease of installation.
The standard designs can be quickly customized to meet your exact needs. Some options include:
Height and dry weight for each model:
Standard rack is 20.2 inches wide x 25.5 inches deep.
Vibration Isolator adds 2.68 inches to 3.18 inches of height depending on weight installed in rack.
